How Baby Monitor connects your devices
Choose one compatible device for the nursery and another for the caregiver. Baby Mode captures the room; Parent Mode controls the private monitoring session. Supported platforms can work together, subject to the features available on each device.
1. Prepare both devices
Install the official app, connect both devices to reliable power and networking, and open Baby Monitor on each one. The app requests only the permissions needed by the selected role.
2. Set up Baby Mode
Place the nursery device on a stable surface with a clear view of the sleep area. Select a camera when the platform offers more than one, then allow camera, microphone, and local-network access. Baby Mode starts its encrypted streamer and shows Parent Control.
3. Pair with a time-limited QR code
Open Parent Mode, choose Add Child, and scan the QR code from the Baby device. The server confirms the activation before the exact Baby and Parent devices store their protected pairing credentials. Pair only devices you control or explicitly trust.
4. Let Automatic choose a route
Automatic connection starts with authenticated Local paths, tries compatible Router Direct paths next, and offers the encrypted Premium relay when direct routes are unavailable. Advanced users can choose a single connection method instead.
5. Choose what to monitor
Turn video, audio, or periodic photos on or off from Parent Mode. Adjust quality for the current network, use walkie-talkie when you want to speak, and control supported camera and White Noise settings remotely.
6. Test before every use
Verify live audio, the current visual mode, alerts, power, and the connection from the place where the Parent device will be used. Test Cry sends an end-to-end notification check to authorized Parent devices that have notifications enabled.
Use it safely
Baby Monitor is an aid for adult caregivers, not a medical device or a replacement for direct adult supervision. Keep every monitoring device, charger, cable, and accessory out of the baby’s reach and follow safe-sleep guidance from qualified health authorities.
